1/26-30 d’CATCH 10th anniversary workshop in Bangkok

I am deeply impressed by the 10 years development of this challenging project originally designed by the MELL Project (Media Expression, Learning and Literacy Project) based in the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, the University of Tokyo.

On 2003, it was carried out by the collaboration between the Kanda University of International Studies in Japan and the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. On 2005, Chulalongkorn University and Thai Youth News of Thailand has joined to develop the project, and the Communication University of China, Nanjin on 2009. This time,  five new countries’ persons  have been joining: Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Indonesia. It has become a really “decentralized” Asian network.

There are something they should try to redesign the formation and the workshop program of the d’CATCH because of the increasing number of participants and countries and also of technological change, but also they should keep the spirit and identity of this playful workshop for media literacies and cross-cultural understanding.

I will have a presentation on January 29th, and should flight back to Japan in the early morning of 30th!

The 10th anniversary symposium will be held from 8:30 am, January 31, 2013, at the faculty of communication arts, Chulalonkorn University.
