1/9-7/9 Video-shootings in Taipei and Seoul

I have visited media professors and practitioners both in Taipei and in Seoul from September 1st to 7th. This rushing trip is to do interviews of them for my program, “Media Studies for the 21st century” of the Open University Japan (放送大學)will be on the air from the April, 2014.

In Taiwan, I found it was already ten years since my last visit. I was so happy to see my dear friends and colleagues of the College of Communication, National Chengchi University (國立政治大學傳播學院). Thank you very much professor and dean Yuan-huei Lin (林元輝),  陳世敏老師(Chen Semin) and 呉翠珍(Sophia We)老師.

I could also have an opportunity to hear a very clear and precious comments about today’s situation of Japanese broadcasting contents in Asia from Ms. Kaku Kuo, the Head of Japanese Channel, Video Land緯來電視網日本台台長).

In Seoul, I met professsor Yong-Chan Kim of Yonsei University (延世大學校), professor Myung-koo Kang of Seoul National University (서울국립대학교), and Peofessor Doo-bo Shim of Sungshin Women’s University (誠信女子大學校). Although I have asked different matters to them in their interviews, all of their discussion have been connected each other and made one three-dimensional vision about  Korean and Japanese media ecosystem in my mind.

I was also happy to meet Mr. Jong-il Choi, the CEO of the ICONIX Entertainment (아이코닉스 엔터테인먼트) which has been famous for its Pororo (뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로).

Although a very short trip, I have learned a lot and had a nice opportunity to think about the position of Japan in the East Asia.
